NEW AWARD FOR EVERYBODYCAN ANNOUNCEMENT

New Award for EveryBodyCan Announcement

We are very excited about the 2020 EveryBodyCan campaign and its potential for all our members to be actively involved in influencing perceptions about activity for those with, or at risk of, lymphoedema, encouraging more active lifestyles, while simultaneously raising the profile and understanding of lymphoedema more generally.

As EveryBodyCan will run through, and beyond, Lymphoedema Awareness Week, we are keen to recognise the effort that many members put into events and initiatives to raise awareness and will be introducing a new campaign specific award for 2020. This will be sponsored by our Platinum Sponsors, Haddenham Healthcare.

The 2020 EveryBodyCan Campaigner of the Year Award will recognise and celebrate an individual member or team who has lead and driven initiatives as part of the campaign to promote more activity and more positive attitudes to activity with lymphoedema.

The criteria for the award would be that the nominee has demonstrated:

  • Enthusiastic and sustained support for the campaign, seizing opportunities to promote the key messages of the campaign with patients, colleagues and other health care professionals
  • A positive impact on activity levels and attitudes to activity for lymphoedema - would be strengthened by structured evaluation data on the outcome of increased patient activity
  • Contributions to the campaign in one or more of the following:
    • the development of a relevant resource to be made available via the Society (this might include patient stories and interviews), leaflets, videos
    • sharing of ideas and initiatives in News & Views, articles in other publications, professional or non-professional, media engagement
    • social media support
  • Engagement with other organisations and groups to promote and extend the reach of the campaign
  • Representing and promoting the campaign and BLS at national, regional or local events

One other change is that any future Lifetime Achievement Award will be made by the Society Trustees. However, members are welcome to request consideration of any individual member whom they consider deserving of such recognition.

Thank you for all the effort and energy you put into raising awareness - we are delighted to be able to recognise this and hope to receive lots of nominations.

Details of the nomination process will be released in due course.
