British Lymphology Society strengthens its leadership and continues to grow

The BLS are delighted to announce a number of appointments to expand and strengthen the charity. The changes see two new patrons join the BLS, Professor Vaughan Keeley and Dr Kristiana Gordon, and Kate Sinclair appointed to the position of Charity Director.

Professor Keeley and Dr Gordon join existing patrons Professor Peter Mortimer and Trisha Goddard. Kate Sinclair has been with the BLS since 2019 and has worked on shaping the charity’s strategies and deliver key projects, she also helped to steer the charity through the difficult times of the pandemic. Prior to this, Kate worked in business development and improvement in the non-profit sector.

In the new appointments and the charity’s strategy, Margaret Sneddon, Chair of the BLS said “I am delighted with these appointments. Our new patrons Professor Keeley and Dr Gordon are well known to BLS Members thanks to their unwavering support of the charity. Promoting Kate Sinclair to the position of Charity Director demonstrates the emphasis we place on delivering the BLS's aims of improving the care of people with lymphoedema and extending the reach of the fast-growing charity.

Kate Sinclair added “I am thrilled to take on this new role of Charity Director at the BLS. Having been here a few years already, I’ve seen first-hand the great reputation the BLS has and I’m excited to be working more closely with such a motivated Board of Trustees.

Professor Keeley said “I feel very honoured to have been invited to be a patron for the BLS. It has grown from a small interest group to a large specialist society playing a leading role in improving care for people with lymphoedema and I am keen to continue to support Its work.” and Dr Gordon "I feel a real sense of pride that the BLS would consider me a worthy recipient, and I hope I do everyone proud”. The BLS are honoured to have two new highly respected patrons who are both nationally and internationally renowned, each leading one of the only two Internationally recognised Comprehensive Centres of Excellence for clinical expertise and research in lymphoedema.
