ALA CONFERENCE

Opportunity for BLS Members to present 'Down Under'!

The British Lymphology Society and the Australian Lymphology Association (ALA) have a reciprocal agreement for members to apply for complimentary registration to the other's conference. Appreciating that there is considerable expense involved in attending a conference in Australia, the BLS is offering a financial contribution of £400 in addition to a free registration, to support up to two successful applicants to attend the next ALA conference on 17-19 May, 2018 in Brisbane. Details of the conference and submission of abstracts can be found at http://www.ala-conference.com.au/call-for-abstracts

Interested applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be a BLS member when attending the ALA conference and for at least 6 months prior to attendance.
  • Have submitted an abstract for presentation at the ALA conference and enclose a copy with the application. The award of the free place and financial support is conditional on having the abstract accepted by the ALA.
  • Attend the conference as a representative of BLS, including a slide acknowledging BLS support to attend the conference in their presentation and engaging with ALA members to share ideas and news.
  • Write a joint report of around 1000 words on the conference and any ALA initiatives that are useful to share with BLS colleagues. This will be included in the summer issue of News and Views, so should adhere to the copy deadlines for that issue.

Applicants should submit their request for support, together with a copy of their abstract and letter from the ALA confirming acceptance to the BLS Administrator by 31st January 2018. Applications will be anonymised prior to consideration by the Scientific Committee, who will then make a recommendation on the awards to the BLS Committee.

This is a unique opportunity for BLS members to network with our Australian colleagues and share good practice and ideas.

Remember there are free places for two lucky BLS members to attend the conference in Brisbane!
