Since its establishment in 1998 Activa Healthcare, the Uk's number one compression hosiery supplier, has been committed to making groundbreaking developments in treating lymphoedema, venous disease and chronic wounds. The Company is proud to work with the BLS towards these aims.
As the pioneer in its field, Activa is constantly striving to improve patients’ quality of life with its compression therapy and wound care solutions. Working with nurses and patients, Activa has developed pioneering products for many difficult to treat wounds.
The Activa nationwide training team, since the merger with L&R, continues to provide advice and hands-on training sessions on full leg and toe bandaging with the Activa and Lohmann & Rauscher ranges including Actico cohesive bandages, Rosidal K and Mollelast.
Once a reduction in oedema has been achieved, patients can wear the ActiLymph hosiery and armsleeves - which provide the European levels of compression and stiffness to contain swelling and allow patients to get on with their lives. By listening to both healthcare professionals and wearers, the range continues to improve, with black ActiLymph hosiery and longer length armsleeves now available on FP/GP10.
This year Activa has held a series of Infection Control Masterclasses, helping nurses to identify infected wounds and treat them with appropriate dressings such as Suprasorb X+PHMB. PHMB is a powerful antimicrobial, yet gentle on healthy cells. Suprasorb X+PHMB rapidly eliminates multi resistant pathogens, including MRSA and VRE.
Activa Healthcare continues to expand our range of woundcare options, including Flivasorb for highly exuding wounds. Exudate is locked into the dressing’s core of super absorbent polymers, protecting clothes and bedding and reducing the risk of maceration. Flivasorb has greatly improved the quality of life for patients with “leaky legs” - as the dressing manages large amounts of fluid without embarrassing strike through.
The Activa website www.activahealthcare.co.uk provides a wealth of information for healthcare professionals and patients, with downloadable fact sheets and videos showing patients how to do those invaluable arm and leg exercises to keep limbs healthy. Case studies and research papers are also available, together with the only “on-line hosiery selector”; just input your measurements and the hosiery selector works out the size of either Activa BS or ActiLymph hosiery required.

Corporate Membership
Corporate membership is open to companies and other organisations that contribute to the advancement of BLS and its work.
Benefits The annual fee is for the calendar year April to March and includes exhibition space for a 2m table at the Annual BLS Conference in October plus lunch, refreshments and Gala Dinner attendance for one company representative.
Corporate members and their products will be listed in the annual Conference Edition of the BLS Newsletter, "News & Views".
The "Corporate Members" page on the BLS website will provide space for a company entry (up to 500 words) and the facility to provide weblinks to companies own websites.
